Anyone suggest improvements on the Nelson Pendant redeaux?  

I documented some "easy" work getting a Nelson back up as a working light fixture. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in taking the time to critique my work - don't hold back. Any ideas or sources to make this better besides the ones I mention in my documentation.
Side note - finials and curtain suggestions. The trim and ceiling are white. The walls are currently "golden harvest." Wife is considering going to a beige or tan but closer to the lighter tones of that sort of family.
