I recently came across a fabulous curb find- 2 selig chairs. They both need a little love and I've just found out that the straps that one of them needs are fagas straps. Is there any substitutes for those straps? I've been to the www.fagas.com website and have seen the straps at $10 each. I'm thinking I would probably need around 8. I realize that I should just stop being cheap and just purchase the straps but I just wanted to see what my options where without stapling anything into the frames.

Thanks for the help!

You might try some place...
You might try some place like McMaster-Carr or Grainger. They have a variety of rubber and webbed straps.

fagas or pirrelly
Hi there
The only other suitable "semi" correct solution is pirrelli webbing.
A hard board /particle board changes the comfort of the chair, resulting in a infelxible firm seat.
You can use loose fitted belts or other strapping but will only get disappointed when you try a chair which has the correct webbing be it pirrelli or fagas.
Those Ebay chairs are NOT Peter hvidt just inbcase any of you wanted to bid.

I wasn't
advocating the method, or the listing- for the record.
(The backs and armrests made me doubt they were P Hvidt somehow)
Anything with a France & Son badge seems to get credited to Peter Hvidt these days, and I'm a fan- as you can see from my sitting room 😉
