Bernhard Pedersen Sideboard with Tambour Doors
I live in Australia and I recently purchased a lovely Bernard Pedersen sideboard with tambour doors that needs restoration. Unfortunately, the inside has been modified and the piece that would have stopped the doors at the centre of the cabinet is missing. I wondered if you could provide information or pictures of the missing piece for the restorer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kindest wishes
Sue Walker
PS. I've included a link which shows a sideboard that appears to be the same as mine

Hi there
I have just acquired a fabulous sideboard with a BPSM label inside the cupboard section.
I'm wondering if it has a name and some details about its origins.
I've not taken any photos yet, but it's 80cm high, 186cm long and 45cm deep. It has four fairly shallow drawers on the left hand side (no handles - they're sort of recessed) and two cupboards to the right. Squarish legs.
Any info gratefully received - I gather the company owners grandson was watching this thread a while ago - it would be really good to make contact if possible. Thanks.
Have enjoyed all BPS info and pics!
My mother purchased her dining set from in 1970 from a store just south of San Francisco. She LOVES Danish modern and the entire house is furnished in this style since the 1960's I decided to research this furniture on my recent visit and the first link I found for "BPS furniture" was this one. What great luck that was! I got all of the information and pictures I was looking for. My mom swore that her set was solid walnut, but most of the pictures in the catalogue listed the wood as either teak or rosewood. I finally found her unit (hutch 160) and, low and behold, it listed walnut as a third possibility. Mom danced around doing a "happy dance". I took some neat pictures of the piece, but unfortunately, I have them on Flickr, but can't get them to post?? I wanted to thank everyone for their posts and comments. It really made my researching and digging job easy.
BPS Sideboard
Hi all,
I bought my second piece of BPS art: a Sideboard Buffet No 142 in teak (as new!!).
Now I got a small collection together with a Cupboard No 165 in teak too (mint as well!).
My Hifi gear fits perfectly into the cupboard. Since the Hifi is very heavy (the turntable weights > 60 kg) I will have the cupboard internally reinforced by a carpenter, but will take care that those mods will not be visible at all. My dream was to have it made at the workshop of Thomas' father in Stockholm, but transport is goint to bee too expensive from southern Germany and back.
Best regards, Antonio
