I love this show! I have been watching it on hulu. I enjoy checking out the inside of Rockford's trailer, which looks pretty hip for the 70's and looking at the clothing designs. He's got a great couch. Great show!

Muscle cars
and freeze frames! I seem to remember some stylish interiors--most often in the homes/offices of well-to-do ne'er-do-wells.

Rediscovered
I also rediscovered Rockford on Hulu. I also think the theme song and opening photo montage are amazing. Maybe it's part nostalgia, but the show is really good.

An absolute favorite, along with several other shows of the detective genre, in roughly the same time period, Mannix, Hawaii Five-0, Cannon, Streets of San Francisco ...
The sets on RF were great, and the Firebird, so long Pontiac; and there will not ever be, god or Robert Blake as my witness, another James Garner.
I kept for some odd reason thinking this last election that he was running for president, with Sally Field as his running mate, but it turned out to be - like Newhart - all just a very strange dream.

james garner
has got to be one of my favorite actors. I love his demeanor in RF. You have to admit it is funny - a down and out PI living in a trailer on the Malibu coast! I was a toddler when this show was in production, but I still remember snuggling with my dad while we watched the show together. I guess the nostalgia is partly what draws me to it. Were there only 3 seasons, or it that all the Hulu released?

To bring this topic full...
To bring this topic full circle, in 1964, James Garner commissioned the firm of Buff & Hensman to build a Mid-Century Modern house in Brentwood,CA featured on page 140 in the Buff & Hensman book.
