Hi all,
Headed down to my local auction house this morning to see the Carlo Bugatti plant stand on offer. This is the first Carlo Bugatti I have seen in person outside of France, and I had naively convinced myself that I might be able to pick it up at low end of the auction estimate, especially given the damage on one corner. Man was I wrong. (Liveacutioneers link below.)
Anyway, took two poor photographs that I thought I would share as I wallow in self pity. Funny enough, my wife very vocally despised the piece when I showed the listing to her (several times) this week. Then she fell in love with it in person and was totally on board. C'est la vie....

Yes, Carlo's work is . . . unusual. Rigorously designed, in any event ?
As for the cars, you've shown two of my favorites. And here's a visual and audio treat -- a favorite YouTube offering . . .

Of course, as active DA users, you two (minimoma and SDR) would have impeccable taste.
I have wanted to see the Aerolithe recreation for years now. Anyone recall where it is now? I have see three of the seven Royales to date, including one under its own power at Pebble Beach a few years ago. My god, are they impressive on the largest and smallest scales.
But most impressive was my first outing to the Monterey a few years ago. Watched a Bugatti T.35B (supercharged 2300cc) chase down an Alfa Romeo Type B (incorrectly known as the P3) down the corkscrew. Will never forget that - solidified those two in my top-10 list of favorite cars of all time.
Rembrandt Bugatti was no slouch either....

The Aerolithe -- a "new Bugatti" built on an existing chassis, if I have that right -- apparently went to Kuwait:
