I'm looking at building a Nelson case study bed with hairpin legs. Ian Maclean sells a kit(4 hairpin legs, 2 backrest supports, and 2 center supports) that looks promising. Has anyoe used the kit or have a bed from them with the same hardware?

Thanks...James

So,
they provide the hardware, and you make the wooden parts ? I see no mention of plans. . .

No plans
All they sell is the metal parts for the kit, we are going to buy 3 sheets of plywood and make the platform/headrest ourselves. After it's glued, nailed and screwed, we will lightly route the edges and poly it. Should be easy, we wanted a basic bed and nothing complicated like the Modernica/original version. I also ordered a used copy of the book "Hand made modern", it has plans for a platform bed and I figured it may open our eyes to a alternate construct.

Best of luck. The authentic-looking parts should be a nice addition to your work. Let us know how it turns out. . .
