I'm off to an auction in another state and am asking others what they think
I have a tongue chair and even though these feel right there's something about the fabric, obviously it appears faded but to my knowledge there aren't any copies. Saying that I'm up for eating my own words
I want them!

Phew
I finally got this pictureuploadingthingy!
There are 4 of them and they've listed them as Panton Amoeba lounge chairs....bawah!
It's just a long way to go if I'm wrong...1200kms to be exact
Being Australia our copy percentage is still rather low but it is climbing

There's nothing
about those photos that would lead me to conclude that the chairs were anything but genuine Paulin Tongues.
[edit: Panton -> Paulin]

Paulin tongues? Good luck finding an upholsterer and fabric, woven image used to have an incredibly stretchy wool called 'utopia' but I think its finished, they might have a bit left though.

Thanks Heath
But from their description 2 are faded and 2 are ok. I have an upholsterer that charges a shitload what ever the fabric but he's good.

I just needed to be sure. It's a long way to go to pick them up, that is if I'm the winning bidder.
Another point worth mentioning is that is it's rather unusual to see 4 at an auction and either more unusual is that it's an Australian auction.
I imported mine from 'wright' in the states

update
I won the two that I prefered for $950 which may sound a lot in the US or Europe but here they aren't common. I know I bought the one I have for $400 US.

Heath
You mentioned 'good luck' finding fabric etc but I'm not too concerned about that at the moment so here's what does. In this country you can't buy replacement covers for tongue chairs and Kezu had no idea if they could get them from Artifort.
My upholster is in Sydney and I've moved to Victoria so I'm a bit cold with whom to trust but then I had a thought ....Would it be possible to unstitch these covers and turn them inside out as the fabric inner is excellent.
I only ask 'cause I can't get my head around the dimensions of turning it inside out.

Yes
turning inside out will work, it will be exactly the same dimensions as chair is symmetrical

In this country you can't find a manufacturer or retailer with an imagination or any idea of what good service, good design or quality is.
Anything decent is imported and 1/3 more expensive than what you pay in the US or Europe. For years I've tried to only buy Australian made but after a few too many unreturned phone calls or trying to deal with people who have no product knowledge I've given up.
Sorry for the rant, do you experience similar? There are a few good things about but they and the people who make them really fly under the radar.
Best of luck with your chairs, won't you have to unstitch them once you've zipped them off? Sorry, yes you said that I didn't have my glasses on. I think the tension on the new stitching will have to be a bit loose, I tried to have something similar made a few years ago and it was a disaster.
You might aswell get patterns made while you're at it.
