Speaking of crème de la crème, did you end up making that drive to pick up that one you came across?

well tchp, I had almost forgotten, seeing this brought it all back: I am mourning in silence (sedated smile).
It was a vendor somewhere around Paris, we live just north of the french border. He was selling a whole suite of danish furniture, but the Hvidt sideboard was hiding in the corner.
I think he knew I was interested in that one alone, but, we made a deal for the lot, as this was more convenient for him.
The day before pick-up I rang him up a final time and he told me the sideboard had long gone.
Bugger.
Since then I came by some other decent stuff, I suppose can't complain...But the sideboard, man, and so well preserved..!
Solid teak...

drawer fronts?
I was wondering why the fronts of the drawers look so light in comparison to the rest of the wood. Were they refinished, or is it the lighting?
BTW, nice piece. I have one too, but with a small chip in the frame , just to the right of the top drawer. I like the H&M chairs too, just can't figure out why they don't seem to sell that well.....maybe just not comfortable enough for our American behinds.
