I was there yesterday but wasn't overly impressed with the selection or prices. The stuff was over priced for the condition they were in. Although, I picked up a Risom Lounge Chair and was considering a Wassily. It was my first time there, I have a feeling it is better to go on just a normal non "huge sale" day. What are others experiences going there? Or good finds?
I've heard
My friend goes down to Jersey a lot and always stops by the DWR outlet. From his reports I'd say you're right - it's better on a weekday- less crowds, and the staff are more open to haggling. I also think you get better deals on DWR stuff rather than the brand names, altho he did get a Fritz Hansen "Little Friend" table for like $200. (normally retails for 1200) Neat little table, but not really my style.

I have been to the sale on a number of occassions. This is mainly out of hope that the sale get better. It doesn't. Your observations are in line with what I have seen. Most stuff is not that cheap, first comes the tax and then another US$125 if you need to pay for shipping to Manhattan. Having said that, there are a few bargains depending on your luck, for example the Marco Zanuso lady chair for $1000 (was $3000).
Tip: if you join their mailing list, you can get an additional 10% off the sale prices on these sale days.
