I cannot find a reference anywhere, online or in any of my books for this magazine rack and the maker's mark. Does anyone recognize this design and/or logo?

The magazine rack consists of a brass, lacquered wood, and chrome. When you flip the rack over, the bottom is painted in an orange paint, and that is where it is signed. It's possible the same paint used on the wood was used to sign the piece.

Thanks as always friends.

Made in
a home or school shop, perhaps from published plans. A unique object, not a manufactured product.

Definitely
an American one-off based on a Bauhaus-esque design. We write our dates differently in Europe with the date first, then the month.
I like the outer shape but the clunky piece in the middle bothers me. Just use it and enjoy it--nobody else will ever have one like it.

Can you post another photo...
Can you post another photo or two of the piece showing the main body of the piece a bit more .
Does it have a homemade feel to it ?
I like it, its interesting and the fact its signed makes it seem a bit more than a home made item to me.

If I owned that magazine rack
I'd buy these to go with it:
