Hello all,

I am new to this site and new to the world of "quasi-vintage" furniture and so am looking for advice. My husband and I are contemplating selling some 1980's furniture, a sectional sofa and two chaise longues from B&B Italia's "Sity" line. We are wondering the best way to go about this. Is there even a market for such stuff? Should we just chuck it? Or venture into ebay or craigslist? Or perhaps consign them to a dealer?

Pardon my naievete; I know art better than furniture....We love the stuff but are redoing the entire living room and are looking for something just slightly more contemporary and with a different palette. It is all in very good shape; it's from a country house in Cold Spring, New York (I don't believe any children or dogs ever drooled on any of it!)

Any advice on whether this kind of thing is even desirable (or will it be in 20 years? Should we store it?) and, if so, how/where to sell it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Libby Ellis

3 words--Craigslist ,Craigslist, Craigslist !!
I have seen some listings for Critterio's stuff in the local Craigslist.I mean ,it originally cost $10,000 or more and the people who unload it for pennies on the dollar are more realistic than people who try to recoup $3-5K on recent used furniture. It's great stuff, but unfortunately not a hot collectible.I recall from about 8 months ago, there was a whole sectional being sold for like $850.,which the dog had christened. And of course, most Critterio pieces are Ivory so....you can imagine.

I'd give up my cat before...
I'd give up my cat before I'd give up my B&B sity sectional. It's the most comfortable sofa, ever. However, If you must part with yours consider ebay. I remember paying over $10K usd for mine (1989?), so your 3 pieces should sell for a considerable sum. If possible, keep em..they'll be classics someday soon.
