There is an Ebayer selling a radio designed by Alexander Girard.. I've heard mention of him designing radios for this Detrola Corporation, but have never seen any pictures of the Radios themselves. It's a pretty good looking radio -- almost looks Braun-ish.
Does anyone have any other pictures of any other radios he designed?

Most interesting.
While the design of the featured radio is handsome, there is a charming naiveté in the use of stretched fabric as a "background" for the dial and the knobs. Naive, because it is impractical to ask the maker to interrupt the stretched field with the puncture required for the dial (witness the irregularity above the dial), and perhaps unkind to require extra care of the owner, to avoid soiling the uncleanable fabric behind the knobs.
Ironically, the soiling seems to have occurred in front of the speaker, instead . . .
Anyway, it is nice to know that Mr Girard turned his hand at one point to the design of appliances -- and the result is certainly in keeping with look of the times, with a fresh twist.
