Mies van der Rohe's Landscape Architect for both the Farnsworth House and the McCormick House was Albert Caldwell. Looking for info on Caldwell...his books are out of print any suggestions???
I found
the following link by Googling the name of the book on Alfred Caldwell (b 1903) that I found, used, a couple of years ago: "Architecture and Nature," by Werner Blaser (Birkhauser, 1984) (not to be confused with a book on Wright, of the same title, by Donald Hoffman).
I was attracted to Caldwell, whom I had never before encountered, by the obvious reference to Wright in Caldwell's architecture at Lincoln Park (Chicago) of 1936. His own house, of stacked lumber and in a flat-roofed style more akin to the "modern" Modernists, is also of interest. His primary contributon was in the field of landscape design, I gather ?
I hope you can purchase the book listed; I would be glad to provide what I can from "Architecture and Nature."
