Does anyone know where to get a good price on a knockoff/replica of the plywood molded lounge Eames chair?

I noticed sleekspaces.com offers them for $200. What's the catch? I noticed it's offically called "Molded Plywood Lounge Chair" and goes on to describe it as "The Molded Lounge Chair is a replica tribute to the exceptional work of Charles and Ray Eames."

What makes it different from the one from Herman Miller?

Um...
What makes it different is that its not from Herman Miller. The long and the short is that Herman Miller (and Vitra in Europe) is the only company making chairs licensed by, and from the designs of Charles Eames. And that may not seem like a big deal, until, for example, you go to White Furniture and their 'plywood lounge chair' looks completely different than the actual licensed version. If you're okay with that - buy a knock off. If you like the Eames designs then save your spare change and pony up for the real thing. I know it's expensive, but its the design you really want or else people wouldnt be knocking it off.

Don't even think about it
I'm not against buying replicas in theory, but this is not a chair on which you want to compromise.
Even if it seems silly, I feel a connection with Charles and Ray every time I sit in mine. I would never have that experience with a repro. Believe me, that feeling alone is worth the money.

prices up $50
LCW prices are up $50, they are now $629 instead of $579. Anyone know the details of this price increase?

Price increase.
Most manufacturers have a price increase at least annually.I suppose it only fair as they have to cope with increased prices themselves for materials, production cost etc. and eventually it is passed on to the high street buyer. My business is just the same.

eames chairs
I agree with lucifersum . A repoduction is what it is a reproduction
the best reproductions are barcelona , Bruno chairs,
Carbo chairs , and arco lamps , Wassliy chairs The chinese have really studied how to make this stuff look good,
the worst
reproductions are Eames chairs any one who knows any thing about the Herman Miller Chair knows for some reason who ever makes this stuff mostly China....
They have never gotten it right when it comes to knocking off the Herman Miller Eames chair to make it look like a Herman Miller Eames chair . I don't know if they can't get the rosewood right or the 5 star base but every one I have seen
always looks bad. like a knockoff, Now for the the other chairs.. I have seen the knoll barcelona and the furniture fancy barcelona , pretty hard to really decide but the knoll will win out . now the bruno is impossible,
the arco lamp from flos vs furniture fancy hard to tell . the wire chairs from knoll are easy to tell cause they have smooth welds verses a cut weld. I could go on and on as I have every design piece of furniture and i have only 3
reproductions .. and if I have bought them it means I have researched the market before I would let a bad reproduction in to my home. White on white stuff is so bad I would npt put it at a cheap motel 6. it would not last the month. (sad)

Not a fan
I'm so not a fan of White on White. I tried out an LC couch for a freind of mine there and it was like sitting on a cardboard box. Their Eames plywood chairs were ugly and misproportioned.
If you're going for the 'look' of an Eames plywood chair get a vintage Thonet - at least that has some lineage to it. Otherwise stick with the original.

this prooves
that design is all about the right proportions. looking at this white on white website it is amazing, knowing the real designs, how bad a design can turn if dimensions, proportions are altered. isn't there any law that forbids to do things like this company does? even it is just to protect our good taste.
