Thanks setag I didn't know you could get sealer in aerosol form I'm pretty handy at spraying small car parts so that's something I would consider
The bench is available direct through Race for £325 +VAT, delivery to Liverpool was about £30 (Race arranged that for me) the lead time is around 3 - 4 weeks, if I remember correctly the chairs are £195+VAT

update
Picked the plywood up from the polisher some time ago so I thought I would get some pictures up
Really pleased with the way it turned out, the pics don't show it up (crappy camera) but there is a really nice change in colour along the plywood,
He used a spray finish (polyurethane IIRC) plus i have given it a few coats of 'wood silk' spray wax

Brilliant - very well complimented by your MkII donkey too. D'you know I missed an original Mark 1 Donkey for £20 at a boot sale last month. Still haven't got over it.

Tempting! It was a friend of mine who got it though - one who at least knew what he had (small consolation I know!) To make it even worse it was in really nice, untouched condition....damn I'm beginning to choke up again!
