Hi there,
If anyone can help me determine if this Womb Chair is both vintage and authentic...I would greatly appreciate it. I am looking to buy something that is vintage and I want to ensure it is not a repro. I've attached a few pics including one of the tag on the bottom of the chair.
There is some staining around the armrests...not sure if this will come out or not...any additional tips?

it looks real to me, the label looks correct and the clips and rings that hold the cushion to the chair look correct too.

Authentic Womb Chair or not? Pictures attached...
Thanks for that.
Anyone else have any thoughts on whether this chair is the authentic?
Thanks so much!

.
It appears to be authentic. I prefer the chrome legs, though.
yup,

Real.
Probably from the 1980s, probably reupholstered.

Hmmm...
Thanks. What leads you to believe it is from the 80s? Is there a way to tell/substantiate? I'd be interested in understanding. The person who currently owns it has mentioned that it is an early one due to the black legs - not sure if this is true?
Anyone else have any input?

The address on the label
is from around 1980, I think. It's possible that the label came from some other chair and was added when this chair was reupholstered, but that seems pretty unlikely, right?
Black frames are available now and as far as I know have always been available.

And...
The floor glides changed at least once, at some point in the production history (Pegboard might know exactly when). I can't tell for sure from your photo, but that chair's glides look to me like the newer style. If you can get a better look at them, they might provide a clue to the chair's age.
Older glide above, newer glide below:

Thanks for that...
I also noticed that the black frame is still being made today... And thanks for the lead and pics of the feet. I think from the pictures I posted, they look to be the more current style. Just not sure if that is 70's or 90's...?
I will try and get better pictures of the feet and re-post soon.
Cheers!
