So I bought the couch and it is designed by Adrian Pearsall. Any feedback? In solidarity

.
I suppose you could start by looking through Architonic for ideas.
(click the link)
Craft Assoc furniture like yours are not prized or extremely valuable but
what i have seen are built like tanks! I've seen quite a bit traveling south.
Virginia and the Carolina's at the big antique malls. Always original fabric
because of the CA tags. I would guess your fabric is original?
I would look for something similar. Such a long cushion needs a strong
thick fabric.
I've never been too crazy about used sofas. The germ factor. If you're on a
budget i suppose you could have it steam cleaned and replace the long
cushion (looks beat up) with a contrasting color and similar fabric?
Couple pillows at the same time?

I started to reupholster one ...
I started to reupholster one of these once but gave up in frustration. The frame was not made in the conventional way. Some parts had been upholstered before assembling, which made it very difficult to re-do without taking the frame apart first. In addition, they used thin plywood where normally there would be webbing or burlap stretched tight, like on the sides of the arms, so it wasn't all that comfortable.
Maybe yours is made differently.
I've gotten lots of good quality MCM-style upholstery fabrics on Ebay and at PA Fabric Outlet in LeMoyne, PA, at deep discounts. Knoll makes a nice wool boucle that comes in a lot of colors and shows up regularly in outlets and online. It's a contract fabric but because it's wool it doesn't have that office-y feel at all. And because it's a contract there are often longer lengths available in the mill end trade.

I understand
The cool thing
The great thing about this couch, although not prized, refers to the fact that it is not reproduced and is therefore something different. All of the knoll remakes are beginning to be quite tiresome and it seems as one member pointed out that all iconic pieces are now in production so virtually the market is becoming oversatuated with iconic pieces.
I am going to have this reupholstered and webbing or suspension added. I will keep this until my Kagan couch comes along, oh and it will. I am in the dead center of Mid Century throw away alley.
Thank you for the input and Feliz Navidad

1st dibs
Wow I did not know that he had many designs. It almost looks as if his furniture was inspired furniture from other designers. How many people do you think have his pieces and are under the impression that they where designed by Kagan or are danish?
Why are 1st dibs pricing so high????????? How do they speculate the valuations of these objects?????

love it
I really like Craft Associates items. I think Rockland's idea of contrasting color would add some visual interest to a piece with already nice lines. I would like to use one of the Eames fabrics on something someday. Pricey though.
I had a chrome legged bench redone with a pattern called "deco" color was "topiary"-made by Crypton. Has been indestructible as the name implies.
