Just picked up this ceramic sculpture. 22"high 11"wide. Don't know anything about it, just really like it. Its not marked anywhere. Anyone have any idea who made it?

WELLLLL...
(rubs chin)
It must be by someone who had access to a kiln!
and A HA!
(raises left hand in pointing gesture)
In my experience such pieces as this are often signed on the bottom!
(shrinks down, dejectedly)
but it's not signed on the bottom, is it?
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...

I like it.
It has kind of a creepy Edward Gorey-ness to it, which is cool-

Yes. Wit, even ?
I'm betting it's a student piece, perhaps in response to an assignment:
"Successfully combine white and black glaze without technical flaws" . . . or
"Mix thrown and hump-molded forms in an asymmetrical object".
I'd like to think that the amusing result was worth a good grade !
