I have the high stool with the low back...got it from Finnstyle as a floor sample (where I also got my Zebra tank chair, which is comfortable and totally sound for this 215lbs frame!)
I love the stool...it's confortable and nicely designed....like all of Aalto's creations.
Funny, Aalto is seldom mentioned when it comes to the best mid-centiry designers. Is it because he did most of his stuff before WWII? It's fascinating that those mid-1930's designs of his STILL look totally contemporary alongside anything Eames or Nelson designed.
Good design lasts forever....

Does anyone know if the Aalto stools from circa50.com are authentic? They have nice Maharam pillows for $60 shipped(Eames, Girard, Nelson, and Panton), we have a set and they are make by them.

I have come accross them a few times and I think they are on Ebay too. They want $50 more than Circa50(both have no tax/free shipping) and Circa50 has them in stock, Home Office Solutions takes 3-4 weeks to ship.

It's true..Herman Miller is no longer distributing Artek
I noticed at Highbrow's website has no Artek furniture, and when I called them (they're a good website for MCM), they said that Artek has not had a US distributor since they ended their relationship with Herman Miller late last year.
