The scaffolds came down to day and the boys started to acid wash the stone .
we are now about 60 percent complete with our stone work next step to design some facing for the two sides of the fireplace and do the inside court yard, to match and the front part of the house,
I love the way it is looking.
This has been one long ordeal for me and sorry to say expensive too. but it should look like a dream when it is finished one way or another (are nightmares dreams?)

I am having Lisa Regan one of the most famous metal work sculptures design my out side fire place cap, I love her work and she is one of the nicest and most talented people you will ever meet, She just won the contest at the Democratic national convention,
I have several of her cool pieces that she has made up for me,
She is designing the big cap like a Curtis Jere wall hanging. first with a chocolate metal base, poly cover copper squares like Jere use to do, and arch bonnet top, now if this is not going to scream mid century modern loved here!!! I have no idea what will.
One other postscript is each stone has had to be hand cut cause they came in 6 inch blocks and that is what has taken for ever, as i said earlier yours truly spit 500 stones till my hand gave way, I am gonna have to have a big nasty steroid shot in the hand joint. not looking forward to that one.
