5 Eames Ash DCW chairs need backrest please

I have just bought 5 Eames DCW Ash Chair with no backrest. I am trying to find replacements and have even contacted Herman Miller and was told I need to buy both the seat and backrest together for over $400.00. I really want to keep the chairs but I can not afford that option Herman Miller suggest.

I have contacted several people that the person at Herman Miller gave me numbers to and each person only has said the same thing, buy both the backrest and seat! If you know of a number or website I can use it would be greatly appreciated.

Broken or gone?
Are the backrests just broken off the mounts, or completely gone?
If they are broken, they can be fixed, for much less than $400 each. If they are gone...well.. there's an applicable phrase about a creek and a paddle.

You could always:
1. Buy the pairs of backrests & seats, then sell the seats on Ebay.
2. Form a 501(c)(3): National Odd DCW Chair Exchange.
