I know this forum is mostly dedicated to furniture and home accessories, but I thought folks here might enjoy a peek at my small collection of 1960's era Accutron watches. These watches were designed and built in the USA starting in the early 60s and this design continued in different variations through the mid 70s.

The watches are notable because they were the first electronic watch movement developed commercially, and because of the unique tuning fork mechanism to drive the movement. These watches have the smoothest sweep second hand you will ever see and they have an audible humm that is hypnotic.

I don't have any of the super cool asymmetrical models but i have a nice space view, an astronaut, and a more traditional railroad model. Let me know what you think

I really like the astronaut!
My vintage pieces include mostly tissots.
I like the idea of a mechanical watch and watches from
the transitional period (mechanical->quartz).

Have you seen the Tissot...
Have you seen the Tissot T-touch? Talk about transitions between technologies, that thing is crazy!

T Touch - a copy of the Aerospace by Breitling IMO. I have an Aerospace, fantastic watch with lots of useful functions. The pilots choice 😉

Time design
agntvbb,
Very nice watches. I know some of these were actually available in solid gold cases.
My sister gave me the Yaccov Agam, Multidimension Collection Two for Movado Artist Series sveeral years ago as a Chirstmas present. The collection (link attached) also included Andy Warhol and Max Bill among others. Short lived but nice.

There have been a few watch discussions on DR I think, not many. I really like Accutrons from that period. They bring to mind the old Pulsar LEDs, another 'technologically advanced' watch that ate up batteries by the minute, if I remember correctly.

If I was married
to Ark, I would make him buy me this Chopard watch that I have been coveting since it came out last season. The little diamonds float around just under the glass and it is too cool for school. I'm getting all misty just posting it on here.

generous guy
Riki,
I heard that this Ark is a generous (but feisty) guy and I am sure he would pleased to purchase this Chopard watch from the Happy Diamonds collection for you if you were his wife (do not forget that you get him along with the watch). I have read his prior post and it seems he may attempt to talk you into something more luxurious from Cartier. This is just a guess.
I generally wear the Rolex Explorer II Ref.1655 straight hand (Steve McQueen model). A gift from Mom and Dad.

The rubber
watch bands are all the rage here in La Suisse. Separates the men from the boys, if you will. The guys are oogling over the new Roger DuBuis Chronographe. Those who have the Bank of Ark are oogling the Roger DuBuis King Square Tourbillon.

Those vintage Omegas are...
Those vintage Omegas are just great striking watches. I've always favored chunkier watches, even the newer ones, Ikepod Seaslugs, and the like.
I used to have a couple watch websites loaded in my Favorites list, the one I remember off-hand is called gizmodo. Check them out if you like watches (I hope they're not shooting the Quran or anything).
