Just bought it used for $10. They were selling it as a "side table". Not sure what the true nature of the table is meant to be. There are a few problems with finish, after years of damage, I suppose. But just below the "Mahogany Association" stamp, that show's number #131, there is a big black stamp below the seal that says "1794". I am assuming that is the year it was manufactured? Then under the bottom tier, there is a branded stamp that was burnt into the wood that says, "TRUTYPE". Hmmm... I was think I would sand it down and then restain it or paint it? Maybe not... Any suggestions?

1794
I'm afraid the type face of the branded mark and the label is sufficient to tell you that this was not manufactured in 1794.
