Although mine doesn't have the Selig label on it, there are enough that have sold at auction with the label to be sure this is the same table. Mine has only a Made in Denmark stamp. But does anyone recognize who would have designed or made it in Denmark?
I only know what I've read about Selig here. No indication that they had anyone in-house to come up with designs. Maybe @Leif-Ericson will reply; he has mentioned that he has some Selig catalogs, some of which may include this table?
"The manufacturer is not Selig. Selig was the retailer and importer. ... With most all of Selig's pieces, there is a certain assumption that Kofod Larsen designed them. And I tend to believe this assumption is true in a lot of cases. However Selig absolutely did import pieces by other designers. To name a few: Poul Jensen, Arne Hovmand Olsen, Knud and Erik Christensen. I'm sure there are more."
@gropius. Have found a few examples with a paper label for Anton Kildeberg. Don't know who the designer was.
Knowledge shared is Knowledge gained
We do know that Selig employed American designers, including Lawrence Peabody and Dan Johnson, and had their designs manufactured in Denmark. I assume these were mostly for the American market though we know some went to the UK as well, like Johnson's "Copenhagen" chair , and Peabody's "Tivoli" chair, as advertised by a London retailer.
There are some tables online that look to be the same design, attributed to Anton Kildeberg Møbelfabrik. Like this one sold by Lauritz:
I just noticed @lexi already mentioned this. Missed that the first time through.
