Brown Saltman work with several California notable designers & they also seem to have produced several convertible height tables, the most recognizable is the Camel table by (Hendrik) Van Keppel & (Taylor) Green.
Sorry I don't know who designed your table, there are many Brown Saltman examples that are clearly marked like the works of John Keal. You can also search online for Paul Lazlo or Paul Frankl's work which is earlier & has a distinct style.
