Hello everyone,

I recently acquired this vintage sideboard in Braunschweig/Germany and would love to learn more about its origin, or manufacturer. Here are some key details:

  • appears to be made of veneered wood
  • brass hinges
  • no visible labels or markings, except for a handwritten "DK" on the inside of the top panel
  • ChatGPT says: the style seems to suggest mid-century (1950s to 1970s) or Danish modern influences

Any insights into its history or possible manufacturer would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

@alinakassandra92 I don't see any Danish modern influences tbh. Thought it had an Asian vibe to it? I'd go for 1970s German production.

From across the pond, I'm catching a whiff of a 1950's Deco office suite. The decorative brass mounts and deep mahogany/rosewood-y finish are anathema to Danish Modern aesthetic of the period.

And ChatGPT?? Pffft!
