Long Beach, California based importer Moreddi brought quite a few of these cigar armed teak lounge chairs into the US West Coast from Denmark (there is also a version with different, more sculptural arms). Possibly owing to some manufacturing details that are similar to chairs produced by Glostrup, this chair is often attributed to Grete Jalk. Moreddi typically stamped the chairs with a heat brand using the Moreddi name.

However, there are a small number of other marked versions of the chair that have a "Made in Denmark - Design John Bon

That is a fun idea: were there any pseudonyms?

Haha. Not that I am aware of. But if someone was hell bent on believing that these chairs are by Grete Jalk, that is the kind of reasoning one sometimes hears.

Same chair frame design, but with the more sculpted armrests. Also has the John Bon̩ branded stamp.

The John Bon̩ branded pieces are probably what one sees in Europe, whereas they seem very uncommon in the US, with the Moreddi import pieces being far more frequently seen.

Moreddi seems to have demanded exclusive markings, so that makes sense.

That is always strange to me when a "new" danish designer name pops out... Especially when the designer has such an odd name as John Bon̩ (doesn't sound very danish!) and his pieces have no maker mark, just a designer name.

I have seen indeed some Bon̩ coffee tables on Pamono and they were advertised as made by Mikael Laursen. I don't know where this attribution comes from...

It is entirely possible that John Bon̩ is not Danish.

It is hard to imagine a viking named Bon̩ with an acute accent. Or maybe he brought it home to Jutland from the fair shores of Normandy?

There is an often finn juhl attributed chair which is actually john bone. We see them pop up here in Canada a couple times a year.

I would love proof that this is JB, as I am sick of seeing the FJ credit. Where did you see that it is JB?

I'm interested in this one too as I always look for an ID on it when I see listings, having upholstered one once with no markings. Most aren't marked at all and I've never seen any reference to John Bone in any description of one until now. The one you linked to is listed on four different venues and is the only thing on the internet associated with "8001 Made in Denmark", according to google search results that I'm getting. The seller hasn't included a photo of the mark in any of the listings, unfortunately.

I've seen them marked before. No idea why they all aren't. I'd have to dig way back years ago in my pics to track it down when I discovered the identity. I'll post up when I have a pic.

Thanks ossrk79, it would be great to seen an image of the stamp posted, and settle the matter on that chair ID once and for all.

Oh, wow. Would be cool to have a definite ID for this one just because of this silly Finn Juhl attribution. I remember asking a while ago, but no one knew.

Can't help with designer or maker, but as per this 1959 Furniture Forum spread, it was called the "Clipper Chair", and was imported to the US through Otto Gerdau (perhaps there were other importers as well).
