I brought this coffee table in an auction online and grabbed it for a reasonable price thinking we need a table for our living room. can anybody help ID it for me please?

Only a torn label with numbers on it underneath and that's it.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Dave

Hi again, the table is all done with some new cane and a new finish.

Does anybody recognise it please? I've been all over the net and some old books with no luck.

@DCNZ  Are you in Australia or New Zealand?  The table is similar to some Parker tables I saw, including this one sold by Albion Auctions in Brisbane.  And the font on the auction lot# label of this Parker table is similar to the one on your table.

Thanks for that Mark but it's not a Tony Parker table. The dimensions are slightly oversized for tables from this part of the world, also the way the magazine rack is woven, the corner brackets that hold the legs. These are identical to Poul Jensen lipped table apart from the lack of the lip in the corners.

Perhaps it's a variation by Selig

Thank you for your comment

@dcnz, No help with ID, sorry, but nice job on the restoration.

What did you use to tone the new cane if you don't mind?

@tktoo2 thanks for the comment, The cane was quite dark to start with and I only picked the darkest strands, I also used a Briwax stain (light oak)

Cheers Dave
