Hello, a few days ago I was helped with my first ID question, maybe I will get some help again.
Can anyone identify this sofa? It is very likely not teak.
Thank you for your help.
This is an interesting question. Answer: this daybed is designed either by Jens Risom or Hans Knoll, Florence Knoll's husband.
In the early 1940s Jens Risom designed a chair for Knoll Associates - the just founded company of Florence and Hans Knoll - or better, Hans Knoll marketed the Risom design in the USA, the so-called 600 series. After the war, Hans Knoll returned to Germany for a short time to help his father Walter Knoll rebuild his furniture company in Germany, then published the Risom design for the German market and called it "Vostra", based on the design by Jens Risom.
It can be assumed that the daybed was developed from the "Vostra Collection", produced by Walter Knoll Germany.
Seems to be beech, the frame.
