I wondered if you have seen a Soberg Chair such as my before (have had it for 15 yrs- passed on collectables) ? Also how common or rare is it?
WOuld be helpful to have confirmation on :
1. model's name
2. designer name
3. period of manufacturing.
4. Other examples of same design
Through comparison with other chair design & wood joinery; I believe that the chair I have has DNA of a designer called Borge Mogensen (1950-1959). Happy new year 2018 and thank you for taking time to provide me a lending hands

Lauritz says Kai Lyngfeldt Larsen but Lauritz is known for some rather random attributions, so take that with a grain of salt. I'm not seeing anything in the chair that would make me think Mogensen, but I'm pretty sure that you'll get more knowledgeable responses than mine by the end of the day.

Hi Spanky-
Thank you for your lead, I am over the moon! What make me think is by Mogensen is the design (under different brand) of this armchair I attached.
What i noticed the similarity of the armrest and supporting legs profile. As well as wood joinery that is alike. Anyway, I wanted to show you my rationale and I am not sure the validity of my findings. Do let me know what you think? Happy new year again! FIRM H
You did not like the answer in this post: https://www.designaddict.com/forum/Identification/Mogensen-chairs ???
It is not as likely that it is Mogenson, as it would probably be documented. It is more likely that it would be by Christian Hvidt, Peter Hvidt, Kai Lyngfeldt Larsen, or maybe something 'in-house.'
The fact that a Danish auction house attributed it to Larsen, skews the likelihood in that direction, although not definitively. You need to find an old catalog, Mobilia, or other trustworthy source to get a factual attribution...... and stop falling victim to hopeful designer bias when doing so, the chairs you are comparing are really not that similar in design!
What do I think? I don't think they look like Mogensen. Lots of well-known Danish-designed furniture was copied by other designers and manufacturers, sometimes just certain elements of a design, sometimes the whole piece---even back in the day, not just since the style has become popular again.
They look to me like something intended for institutional use, like for schools, public libraries, etc.
I know this thread is 2 years old but was in contact with Mats Linder about a Søborg bedside table. He found the information I was looking for in a Soborg 1962 catalogue. The same catalogue has designs by Kai Lyngfeldt Larsen, which he was happy to share with me, and the OP's chair is in it.
Model 526.

Thanks for that Lexi. I seem so perturbed in the post, it is rather unbecoming.
I think I remember this one, ... the OP was arguing with Leif on why the chair was BM, then didn't like Leif's answer, so he re-posted his question again hoping for an answer he liked better, ..... or maybe that was a different post, so hard to keep them all straight, and I can't get there through the above link anymore...
@lexi I came across an unknown Søborg bedside table a few weeks ago on eBay. It was in the UK.
I have been outbid as I did not want to spend too much on a piece that was not really my style. Shipping to France was expensive too. Anyway, I am still wondering who designed it...
Are we talking about the same model? Did you find out who the designer is?
thanks!
@drpoulet. The bedside table I mentioned is from this thread.

@ lexi oh ok, I knew this one was from Hvidt / Molgaard.
I thought you might have been the happy bidder on the one I posted and knew more about it.
It has the Søborg sticker with the castle and a DFMC medallion so probably from the first half of the 60s.
Probably an in-house design I guess...
