Hi all

I don't suppose anybody can help identify the make of this sideboard please? There has been a sticker on the back but this has long gone unfortunately.

Measures approximately 213.5cm long, 45.5cm deep and 76.5cm tall.

Thanks in advance!

That is an incredible piece.

If I am not mistaken, the drawer sides and interiors appear to be mahogany and fully dovetailed. That would lead me to believe that it is English.

Maybe Lief can weigh in here?

I think the handles are rosewood, maybe? The drawer construction is quite nice. I would be curious to see how the drawer bottom is attached (screws, nails, staples, etc), and how the drawer rear is attached too? A better photo of drawer side might be helpful too. The drawer fronts appear to be solid. The magnetic catch is a later or lower end detail.

All in all, I don

I definitely think English too. My mind instantly went to Robert Heritage and while I can't spot any matches I still feel it could be.

Many thanks for the replies!

Here are a few more photos of the drawers as requested.

Thanks

Mark

Robert Heritage could be our man as the handles are very similar to this one listed elsewhere online...

It is a high quality factory piece. Given the crews on the bottom of the drawer I doubt it is from the 1960s, more likely the late 1950s. That rib underneath the drawer is an extremely uncommon feature in Danish construction. I am liking hr idea it is English more and more all the time. That one you posted, ANE, also uses magnetic catches. You might have found the maker.

I'd like to see the bottom. Supported, as it is, only at the extreme ends, it's remarkable that the piece doesn't appear to have sagged much, if at all, in the middle. I wonder if there's steel under there.
