Hi, I am very sorry to bother you but I am trying to identify the maker of this piece and was wandering if you could be so kind and maybe help me. I have been researching it on and off for a year now and just want know if it's a Arne Vodder piece maybe ( in my dreams haha ) so I can price it right to sell. It has treetex made in Sweden on back but that is merely where the ply board for backing came from. Also each drawer is numbered in green felt 1-4 with 59 also wrote on each drawer. Also quite possibly different wood for legs ( dark wood ) and teak body. Any information would be gratefully recieved. Thank you for your time, kind regards, John.

I have a sideboard I'm trying to find, so I've been searching. Yours looks a LOT like this one - the sliding panels may have gotten swapped, described as "SIDEBOARD, "Korsör", Ikea, Sweden": https://www.bukowskis.com/en/lots/674229-sideboard-korsor-ikea-1900-tale...

It is not an Arne Vodder. Sorry.
It is a fairly low end sideboard. Here are some of the signs that indicate this:
masonite rear panel (a finer piece would have a birch veneer or possibly be finished with a teak veneer)
thin edge banding (e.g. on the tops of the drawer fronts)
non-stopped dado drawer slides (a stopped dado keeps the drawer from hitting the back of the case or the dovetails and takes more time to make)
those handles are fairly generic
and in this context the legs made out of non-matching wood do not help its case
If you want to price this piece reasonably, find the lowest price you can and then subtract quite a bit for the water damage. (That damage may well be repairable, but many people neither have the time, nor know how to do so, so the price will go down substantially).

hi, thank you so much for the advice and link. It is very similiar piece to the ikea one shown in link and I will look down that avenue. Don't suppose you know what that amount is in pounds sterling. Thanks as well for pointing out it is definately not Arne Vodder, I must admit I didn't think it was but thought it may attract more people to comment. I will restore this my self as I know I can bring this up to look brand new with some wire wool and teak oil. I am so grateful for your responses and will post pictures if you like when I come to restore. Thanks again and any more responses would be fantastic.

Are you sure that "Treetex Made in Sweden" is actually a lable for the masonite? It looks quite well placed. And I would not be surprised to discover that it was indeed made in Sweden.

hi thanks for response, I did look into that first but found that it was just commonly used. I think now that it could well be an ikea piece. I will now try and find the back catologues and will check 1959 first because of the markings on the drawers. If I find out I will let you all know my findings. Thanks again
