So, what's up with this black and gold combination? Ray Eames created the original design in 1949 for Schiffer's "Stimulus" collection.

After fussing over the exact design and label variations, I believe it's authentic. The designs vary from white/blue trays, rectangular/square trays - I found the exact constellation on the original drawing. The impressed marks vary as well: some have the 1954 date cartouche and additional blank lozenge... some don't.

I had to spend a couple hours removing a film of old food - like removing the last of a bad sunburn. But it's coming along and I expect to be left with only some scratches.

Anyway, I was really hoping someone has seen or heard of this black and gold combination?
