I have owned the sideboard photographed below for a number of years but have never been able to establish who made or designed it. Unfortunately there are no marks or labels to provide answers or clues.
In the past I have seen both Dyrlund and Vinde Mobelfabrik furniture items with the same style of rounded corner.
Does anyone who contributes to this forum help identify this piece.
many thanks
Hi @danish-nut, we have spoken about this off the forum but I know I couldn't help so I too would be interested if anyone has anything definitive!
The base of this china cabinet, listed as Brouer Mobelfabrik by Bunch Auctions, looks pretty similar. The dimensions listed were 70.5 inches wide by 20 deep, which would be about 179cm by 51cm . The auction house did not show a mark or tag, and I didn't see another one like it, so just a lead to pursue.
@mark737. That base is definitely the same as the OP's sideboard.
It is so frusrating to find what you are looking for but without all the information.eg; labels, etc. to back up the attribution.
Knowledge shared is Knowledge gained
@lexi Yes, frustrating when they don't include pictures of marks or tags. But it would be odd to list as a relatively obscure maker like Brouer without a mark or tag, so I tend to think it might be accurate.
Found a teak version - sold by that same shop in Topeka that had the Burke stools. Anyway, it only had a red "Made in Denmark" stamp and they described it as "in the style of" Dyrlund.
Thanks Mark I am pretty certain your research and attribution is correct. The size of my unit is 180 x 50 cm and the colour finish is pretty well identical to the Brunch Auctions piece. Thanks Kyle and Lexi also for your contribtions. Must admit I hadnt heard of Brouer before so will be interesting to research them further. Its not the most stylish piece of furniture but cavenous and great for storage........and now I know who produced it. So thanks again
