I picked up this round teak coffee table with bentwood pedestal base a few days ago. It's 110cm (43.3") in diameter and 56cm (22") high. The only other example I could find so far was a photo on Pinterest of a beechwood version saved by a Swedish classified ad website in the category of Swedish furniture. Unfortunately the link to the listing is now dead. Anyone know who designed or made this one? Thanks.
@lexi Thanks, that looks like the one, unless they used someone else's table in their chair ads. Once I had the name I found the ads from 1978 on Mats Linder, which I'm guessing are the ones you mentioned.
@mark737. Yes that is where I found them. I also thought the tables might just be props for the photo shoots as I haven't come across an image of the tables on their own ! An IG poster Andeassiesing ,who would be considered very knowledgeable on all things Swedish, also posted a single pic of a bunch of Gote ads/ brochures ( front covers only)and the table is there too.
Knowledge shared is Knowledge gained
@lexi I just went and looked at that IG post. It is a bit odd that we can find no examples of marked Gote tables of any kind. It appears they were primarily a chair maker and maybe made a small number of these tables. For what it's worth, the laminated bentwood arms and connector bolts on this chair look to be the same materials as the base of my table.
