To add to my original post below:
I'm still searching to ID these chairs and came across a footstool that looks like a match to the apron/cane design. I found it on 1St Dibs. The footstool is in teak, but the chairs I have are rosewood. It is attributed to architects Aksel Bender Madsen & Ejnar Larsen and made by Willy Beck. Wondering if anyone can weigh in on this?
Best,
Anthony
Hi,
I recently purchased four rosewood dining chairs in London which I intend to restore. I had planned to papercord the seats, but after removing the existing elasticated web seat, it became clear that they originally had woven cane seating (slots around the chair apron). I have tried to find a makers name, but nothing identifiable...can anyone shed some light please?
Many thanks,
Anthony
