@mvc, For me, it's the bifurcated seat. It makes me want to align my seam with that of the chair. And, frankly, that's among the last things I want to think about when I sit down for a meal.

@tktoo2, Could be a hospital chair, with a mechanism that pulls the chair apart laterally to prepare for the next step after lunch.

@mvc, lol! We call those "potty chairs" here.

I'm having a beer. Just spent 2 hours doing some gardening; thirsty work. Will be cooking dinner later, which will involve the use of a variety of kitchen utensils and back to work tomorrow,(healthcare worker) and very familiar with "potty" chairs !!

My people are from County Louth and I'm embarrassed that my very first visit to Ireland was just last September. We had the most lovely time!
