I picked up this mid century chair at what I believe to be a bargain ($100), and I suspect I may really have something. Definitely not a reproduction and excellent build quality. No markings that I can find. What are your thoughts on possible manufacturer?
Seems as if someone had mounted the Kodawood backrest and seat on a different frame. But then the original drill holes should be visible on the back, and that's not the case. So either a real "never seen" Kodawood model, or a failed homemade one. Looks strange.
Hello,
I write you from Madrid, Spain. I 've found, literally in the street, a pair of Chairs. When I began to sand one of them I found the label of France and Son.
I'm currently investigating and I believe they're Finn Juhl Model 209, Diplomat Chairs.
Could anyone help me?
I don't really know what to do, if they really are Finn Juhls...
There‘s not much to be done. Enjoy them. The diplomat series is Finn in his late period, they are nice chairs but not as valuable and sought as his Niels Vodder pieces. You can’t do much wrong. But if you have specific questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
