I have 2 days to decide whether I want to purchase these 2 pieces before they are open to the public and need help with ID. These two pictures are the best I have, but I can say the legs on the sofa are all wood, just placed on sliders so they look like brass caps. Any ideas if legit or not? Thanks for your help!

They look more like Kohler to me, or an equivalent. They look like better quality than Pearsall. Flexsteel made one that same overall shape but without the wood trim. Flexsteel is well made stuff if you ever come across it. Pearsall is very popular but is junk under the fabric.

Spanky, I think you mean Kroehler, which was made in Chicago, and is not too far from Sheboygan where the faucet company Kohler is located.

Oh, and I agree with everything else you said!

Check out this site:

AP's son used to publish all the Craft Associate back catalogs, but he was getting ripped off. Now, he'll research for a nominal fee. (see the third paragraph)

" If you are considering purchasing a piece of furniture, ask your dealer to provide certification. If they are honest and legitimate, they should have no problem honoring your request. We will invoice through PayPal after we provide you with our report. Requests for certification should be emailed to jpearsall1482@comcast.net"

Right--Kroehler! (I just finished renovating a bathroom and still have faucets on my mind, obviously.)

Jason--the Pearsall catalog is still online if you want to look at it. And the son's certification service has been discussed here in the past if you're interesting in some opinions on the subject.

Not sure what they're asking... if you're a dealer, I'd say get the sofa but not the chair. Doesn't matter if it is Pearsall because you can sell it in the style of and do just fine. Probably isn't, though.

Recently a friend of mine tried to get a sofa certified through Pearsall's son and was told that it wasn't a Pearsall design. I worked on it and it had all the hallmarks, so I told him I thought that it probably was. Turns out it was in the free catalog the entire time.

I'm sure there are a few strange 'purist' Pearsall collectors out there, but I think that the certification isn't needed, in most cases.

Thanks everyone! I had a chance to look at the sofa and chair yesterday and found them to be manufactured by Rowe furniture. After a bit of searching I found other examples listed as the "Rowe Gondola Sofa." The upholstery is soft fleece, it's definitely funky. I haven't found a name for the chair but they share the same wood accents.

I ended up buying both and am deciding whether I want to reupholster. Still can't find much about Rowe's mid century production, but the pieces feel sturdy and are still comfortable. Attaching a picture of the same model someone refinished.

If anyone knows more please share. Thanks again!
