This looks a lot like the classic paper knife lounge chair excepting the front curve on the armrest has me stumped and the back support is also different. Is it an early prototype, a vintage copy by a skilled craftsman, or ....

Utterly curious. Amateur (not to reflect on the quality of the workmanship)  reimaging I'd say. Hard to say vintage or not, and certainly no prototype.

Thanks Kyle. I think it is vintage judging from the condition and I think old growth teak but I wonder if there is any place to where I might find out if it is a skillful copy or actually made by the same shop as the known version.

The darker wood is probably Afrormosia. So probably vintage.

I don’t see a prototype and I don’t see Kai Kristiansen. The chair doesn’t even look very Danish to me, although the similarity to the paper knife chair is striking indeed. Have you seen it in person? Is it yours?

lief-ericson Thanks. The chair looks teak and old teak but I'm new at this so I might be wrong and beyond that I have no clue.

Herringbone, not mine, but it is up for auction and I just don't know how high to go....it is a little quirky which has me alternately attracted and repelled...I mostly want to know the story behind who made it

I'm finding some great pickings at local online auctions I suppose because dealers can't be there for pick up and they don't ship but this one has me puzzled (current bid $35.)
