Hi everyone.
I came across this stool/ottoman and I am wondering if it the real deal or not?
Seems unmarked and dimensions seem about right. The beautiful upholstery doesn’t look original though.
What I find a bit suspicious is the clear wood on the underside (looks like beech but can’t really see from the pictures) + very dark ´teak’ that could be afrormosia or just very dark picture.
What do you guys think? @leif-ericson maybe?
Ok. Just compared with the dimensions on PP Møbler website and it’s 5 cm too wide: 70 cm vs 65.
Thought it was vintage copy. But then comes this one: same dimensions (70 cm) but marked with a DFMC medallion.

Any clue?
@cdsilva ahaha, yes that is what I figured out. Anyway, I have bought a pair of them yesterday for a very sweet price (if they are real that is). Can’t wait to receive them and have them reupholstered !
Dr P, could I ask a favor please. When you re-upholster, could you check to see if the leg joints to the frame are wedged through tenons, like both the Papa Bear chair, and the similar Johannes Hansen-made stool?
While the wedged tenon in JH stool clearly doubles as a design feature, the one in the Papa Bear chair is mostly hidden. I'd love to see a hidden one even more in the Papa Bear stool. It would only be there for joint integrity and durability.
