I'm researching a set of these chairs and came across this seller listing that shows a photo of a J.L. Møller medallion but does not identify them as Møller in the description. I have not been able to find them elsewhere identified as Møller, so I'm guessing the photo of the medallion was an "error". Does anyone recognize these chairs? Thanks
I would say that the medallion shown in the first post does not belong to those chairs, because you would expect to have the upholstery close to the wood bar, which in these chairs cannot be. So that must come from other moller chairs, where indeed it makes sense the the upholstery is close to the wood.
@mark737. Found a set of same chairs with a Schionning & Elgaard, Randers, Made in Denmark foil label.
A few other hits none of which have labels. As with the Moller medallion this foil label may have been placed there and has nothing to do with this chair.
However the shape and style of the legs, seat frame and stretchers are very similar to the better known ( and marked/labelled) dining chairs by this manufacturer.
Knowledge shared is Knowledge gained
@herringbone It looks like an honest mistake. I see that the same seller sold this Møller footstool with the same photo of the medallion, so it looks like they accidently posted the medallion photo with the Schionning & Elgaard chairs. If they were trying to pass them off as Møllers I assume they would have asked more that $150 per chair.
