I agree with Leif, don't worry that you wasted money!
I have no idea who made it but maybe your friends and family will be cheered if/when they see it properly outfitted with cushions. It looks odd without them, what with that high back and the two round (?) rungs at the top. That's unusual. The seat is lower that most, too, so you will want probably at least a 4" thick foam cushion---but 5" thick may look too heavy. I dunno, maybe stack some folded blankets together to about 5" high, wrap them in something solid, and try that out for looks. I can't even tell if it had a back cushion or not--the seat depth looks rather short to me to be accommodating the thickness of a back cushion too, but maybe the overall scale is way bigger than I am assuming.
Maybe the rung area at top had a separate headrest cushion? Again, hard to say without knowing the human dimensions of the thing. That would make more sense. It may have had straps that attached to/around the rungs somehow.
Hi,
I was being somewhat flippant with the sadness comment, any "disappointment" was due to the size it takes up as opposed to the money. It measures 70cm wide by 94cm high so is quite a hefty chair.
I agree it will look better with a cushion, unfortunately they didn't have any original cushions for guidance, and I cant find it online, but I was thinking about putting just a seat cushion (the base has wooden slats), thanks for the suggestion re sizes.
