Picked up one of these chairs this week and image searches return a number of examples with most attributing to, or listing as "in the style of" , Nanna Ditzel or Adrian Pearsall.  The pair pictured here lists both names and has an asking price of $9800.  You'll be shocked to hear that none of these sellers shows a tag or mark to back up these attributions.  Well, my chair still has a tag.  Any guesses before I post a photo?

Definitely American chairs. The caster wheels are from Shepherd.

I'll just take a guess, Edward Wormley for Drexel

That's a good guess, and I can't say with certainty that you're wrong, but I'd say it's highly unlikely.  So, the  tag on my chair as you can see says "Sold by Montgomery Ward".   For those of you not from the US, or under 40,  Montgomery Ward was a huge national retailer like Sears that had a big catalog business, but they didn't make their own furniture, as far as I can tell.  So, who actually designed and made this chair is still unknown, but I think it's safe to rule out Ditzel and Pearsall, and Wormley for that matter.

Montgomery Ward did sell some interesting furniture back in the 60's, including Plycraft's Mulhauser chairs, and Cherner chairs (which they oddly attributed to Paul McCobb in one catalog).  They also sold some Pearsall-like designs, though we know other companies like Kroehler and Norwalk made these styles as well (I think the living room set in the photo below is by Kroehler).    And some Poul Jensen and Ib Kofod-Larsen "inspired" chairs too.    Note: the Kofod-Larsen style chair was made by Jamestown Royal.

Hilarious! When I first read your post, I had a feeling you might tell us "it's from Sears"! Which, coincidentally, reminds me of of song lyrics written by F. Zappa: "Say, is that a real poncho? I mean, is that a Mexican poncho or a Sears poncho?"
