As usual, I ‘liked the look’ of a couple of chairs; when I picked them up, I was pleasantly surprised to see an embedded metal ‘Dokka Mobler’ emblem!

Easy!

Three days later, I am no nearer to knowing anything more about my purchase.

I assume, from the shape and materials (presumed rosewood), they were designed by Sven Ivar Dysthe, but have no idea of model, date, etc.

I’ve only seen a ‘high back’ version with this frame, arm profile, and particular joinery, but it did not have loose seat cushion, nor did it have a designer, or model number. They have been reupholstered at some point (with f***n’ stapled elastic seat straps, instead of proper clips), and I’d like to get them close to ‘original’ condition.

Please forgive the poor photos, and any free range rabbit sh!t in the background 😉

Always appreciative of any insight, Thanks

Having checked out “dysthedesign.no”, no longer confident they are a Dysthe.

This is the ‘high back version’ I was able to find.

@marwood_.     I have checked on my usual "go to" Norwegian sites and I am afraid I have not found your exact chair.

There was one photo posted which showed a low back chair, with the metal and chrome frame, that had loose cushions; extremely rare apparently . Image from the  Exportland Norwegen nr. 1 1961,

Posting 2 images; One from the above mentioned book and the 2nd a colour photo of one posted by a member of a Norwegian Forum. Photos courtesy of Thomas Flor.

So Dysthe did do loose cushions...

That highback chair also featured, as an ID request, in the same Forum.

Here is one of the answers, posted by one of the administrators of that site.

" I have consulted with a specialist and can confirm that this chair is Dysthes prequel to the recliner "

@lexi  Saw the thread on that Forum that ID'd the high back version as Dysthe

Hans Brattrud.

Rastad and Relling.

And I am sure there are others.

Thanks @lexi and @mark737! Wow, quick response.

I did check all the known designers from Dokka, with no resolution.

Mark, your picture, with ID looks closer than anything I could find! Now I just have to figure out what the back ‘should’ look like, on a shorter version 🙁

Lexi, that looks like 1001 series; hadn’t seen it with loose cushions…

As alway, greatly appreciate the time and insight you put in!
