i have recently come into possession of these wrought iron chairs and table legs. So far i have not been able to identify or age them and was wondering if they are something you have ever come across before and if you could help in any way as i cannot see any markings or stamps anywhere.

They are heavy wrought iron with leather/effect upholstery (70's/80's?), and the paint seems original and the fixings are modern, but i wondered if they are a mass produced design or one off?I have six chairs plus the table legs.

Any info would be greatly appreciated or any pointers to forums or search sites

These are not wrought iron. Wrought iron is iron shaped by a blacksmith in a forge. These are steel bent in a factory. Hopefully that will help your search. I don

I just did a google search for "steel ribbon chair", because they look like ribbons to me and I thought probably other people would think the same thing. Anyway, one or two showed up but with a chrome finish. One was on 1st Dibs and the seller said "Designer unknown" and dated them to the 70s. Seems like they could be as late as the 90s to me.
