Hi there two ID posts in two weeks! 🙂
both have had me stumped though.
attached some images of a reclining lounge chair I found today in the uk.
has a mechanical tilt mech on it (that seems to be missing its handle)
there is a label on the base but searches I’ve made have not helped this far.
label reads Elias H Pedersen, custom built furniture, danish french Italian, Vancouver B.C
The chair itself has a passing resemblance to designs by folke ohlsson but the base is different and I haven’t seen one with paws before.
as ever thanks in advance and this may be something which has come up before but I don’t seem to be able to find it.
I’d be interested to know who designed it and also what that tilt lever would have looked like so I can get one made up.
@atomicrobot. As I know very little about Canadian made furniture, can't help you in that regard.
You mention a tilt mechanism, minus handle; have you a pic of any of the mechanism parts that are still there ? You could search for " scandinavian" reclining chairs and see if you can find posts showing the tilt hardware and compare with yours.
Keep in mind that these mechanisms were patented and used on chairs designed and made in a number of countries.
