Good evening to all.
I got this pair of chairs I was given by a mexican friend who said he got it from his uncle who used to live in Denmark in the 70's.
And in advance, thanks for any help. Or clue.
They seem to be made out of Teak. But I'm not sure. The varnish needs a bit of TLC.
I'm afraid I do not have much more information.
Cheers
Hi there,
The legs looks like afromosia rather than teak, which doesn't help a great deal.
On a more speculative note: it looks like a lot of Arne Hovmand-Olsen attributed coffee table designs by Mogens Kold for coffee tables. These designs and MK used afromosia a lot, and the same brass fixtures to secure table tops to the frame underneath.
And I am always being surprised by how much design AHO pumped out which makes me skeptical of plenty of attributions but possibly an avenue to investigate?
Kind regards,
Kyle
In fact on this sideboard the similarity of the stretchers is even more apparent:

To add to further confusion after soom Googling these popped up and while there's a dealer's attribution which generally makes me go in the other direction, to distance ourselves from the attribution at all - the plywood seat looks similar from the small amount I can see of the shape of yours and the small amount I can see of the shape of theirs.
Substantially different base though.
