Hi! I have seen a combo composed of these two pieces, owner says they have a tag Illums Bolighus.
Would you know who back in the days used to design these pieces with the visible box joints?
Many thanks
Those are a couple of odd pieces you have there. The cabinet appears to be Soborg model 304, with a plinth base, by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard Nielsen. The solid teak, box joints, keyhole, and brass bullet hinge locations all appear normal; but there are no carved door pulls where they should be at the middle.
For the chest of drawers, the housing seems to be from the same design line as the cabinet, but the drawer brass pulls look like they came from a Børge Mogensen desk by P Lauritsen and Søn.
Without seeing more, hard to know if the non-conforming pieces are custom original, or whether modifications were made by an owner at a later point.
Thanks for your answer. The first cabinet inside looks like in the catalogue, with the drawers. The owners indicated he had a few copies of those, so my guess is that they got them from an old office or shop who ordered them with these changes (including not having legs). Best regards
