Hello,
I picked up this sofa and armchair set at a movie prop warehouse in Toronto this past weekend for the sum of $150. Mint condition with minimal wear. Odd thing is that the chair has a different pattern from the sofa so I am assuming these were re-upholstered in the 60s at some point.
The sofa/chair set was most likely from a department store in the Toronto area so it may be hard to pinpoint where it came from. I was unable to find any identification marks.
Any help would be appreciated.

They're not Scandinavian in origin, probably American, maybe Canadian. I don't know much about Canadian-made furniture.
They probably were made in the 60s so any reupholstery would have been later. Both have the kind of fabrics used in traditional decor and my guess was that the owner wanted them to fit in with more traditional furniture in the home. That happens a lot. There are still fabric swatch books with those kinds of fabric in them.
I doubt this set is of great value but if you want to put money into into them, a solid wool with some texture in either a neutral or interesting color would improve them a lot, in my opinion. I wouldn't do them in the same color, either--probably neutral on the sofa and some color on the chair.
On the other hand, I could be wrong about the value--maybe they were made by a Canadian company that has a following!
